A Séance at the Driskill: Dialogues with the Dead
Driskill Hotel - Crystal Room
Austin, TX 78701
How to get there
The church that first gathered inside the Driskill returns for one night.
Before the Driskill was famous for its ghosts, Austin's First Spiritualist Church was meeting inside it. This Halloween weekend, the church comes home for a candlelit evening of history, strange machines, and a traditional séance, all to help preserve its 100-year-old building in Hyde Park.
Your evening
💀 The reception: Arrive for cocktails and light appetizers.
💀 The talk: Historian and author Brandon Hodge (Supernatural Machines, out October 27) tells the story of the golden age of spirit communication.
💀 Hands-on: Try authentic spirit communication devices from Hodge's own collection.
💀 The séance: A traditional, seated Spiritualist séance led by a Church medium, in one of Austin's most storied rooms.
